CAMP CHECK-IN INFORMATION - ELITE & INDIVIDUAL CAMP

Check-in for Elite and Individual Camps will take place in the Horejsi Family Athletic Center, located west of Allen Fieldhouse (see campus map). ALL campers-commuters and overnight-must attend check-in in Horejsi. All balances must be paid in full before arriving to camp. Please see "TUITION INFORMATION" above for additional details.

Overnight campers DO NOT need to bring their bags with them to registration. Following registration, overnight campers will be able to check into their rooms at Naismith Hall. Commuter campers may head over to Allen Fieldhouse (AFH) for free shoot prior to the opening session of camp. Overnight campers may return with their parents to AFH for the opening session of camp at their leisure. Those campers that do not have parent/guardians staying for the start of camp should remain on the lower level of Naismith Hall and wait for an escort over to AFH by the camp staff.

All camps will begin 30 minutes after registration closes in the Horejsi Family Athletic Center (HFAC).

REGISTRATION/CHECK-IN INFORMATION - JUNIOR JAYHAWK CAMP

Check-in for the Junior Jayhawk Camp will take place in lobby of the Horejsi Family Athletic Center (HFAC-please see enclosed map). All campers must check-in between 8:15-8:45 am on the first day of camp, Monday, June 30th. Following check-in, all campers will be able to free shoot in the gym until the all-camp meeting at 9 am.

CHECK-OUT TIME

Check-out time for all camps is at NOON on the final day. All overnight campers must depart Naismith Hall by 1:00 pm. Please make sure that you have proper arrangements for pick-up and moving out prior to the start of camp. All overnight campers must have their room checked by a member of the camp staff prior to turning in their key and departing.

OVERNIGHT CAMPERS

In addition to clothing and personal items, overnight campers will need to bring pillows, twin size linens and towels for overnight stay. The residence hall will not provide these articles. It is also recommended that campers bring an alarm clock and anything else needed for overnight stay. A room key will be checked-out to each overnight camper upon arrival to camp. Each overnight camper is responsible for her own key. We recommend that you bring a lanyard or other way to keep track of your key. Adidas lanyards will be on sale at the camp store. If the original key is not returned at the end of camp, a $50 service charge will be billed to the camper. This payment should be taken care of prior to your departure from campus. Room check will be done each night-all campers are required to stay in their assigned rooms after this time. KU staff will be available on each floor of the dorm each night. Information about exact location of staff members will be available this first night of camp.

Roommate preference will be honored ONLY IF BOTH CAMPERS request one another on their registration forms or in writing to the camp office All requests should be made two weeks prior to the start of camp session. Campers are allowed to request suitemates as well - this is a connecting room of two more campers. If campers do not request a roommate, they will be assigned to a room with someone in their age group. Only two campers will be assigned to each room - no exceptions! Campers are not allowed to switch rooms once camp has started without the permission of the camp director. Any change made will occur following the night session of the first day of camp.

The residence hall is monitored 24 hours a day. Camp staff (including medical personnel) will be staying overnight to ensure safety of all campers. No campers are allowed to leave the residence hall without supervision. Campers will walk in supervised groups to and from gyms.

COMMUTER CAMPERS – ELITE & INDIVIDUAL CAMPS ONLY

All commuter campers (Elite and Individual) should report to the residence hall each morning of camp following registration. Camp coaches will perform a team roll call before moving to their scheduled gym. All commuter campers will have to be checked out from the residence hall at the end of each day by a parent or guardian. No camper will be released from the gym. Campers must go back to the residence hall to be signed out and accounted for each evening. Commuter campers will not need to be checked out on the final day of camp.

All Elite and INDIVIDUAL commuter campers must fill out the Pick-up Authorization Form and return it to the camp office. This form is also required for those planning to drive to and/or from campus. A signature will be required before a camper is allowed to leave for the day. Please review the daily schedule to know exact drop-off and pick-up times.

Junior Jayhawk campers will need to be dropped off daily at the Horejsi Family Athletic Center (HFAC). This is also where campers will be picked up each day. Parents/guardians need to come in the gym to claim their child(ren) as no campers will be allowed to leave the gym.

WHAT TO BRING FOR CAMP

All campers must be dressed appropriately for camp (i.e., shorts, t-shirt, basketball shoes) for each session of camp. An extra pair of shoes/sandals is recommended for outside walking between sessions as well as rain gear (light jacket, umbrella) in case of inclement weather. Campers should not wear jewelry of any kind while on court. The Bonnie Henrickson Basketball Camp is not responsible for any items lost or stolen while at camp. There is no camp bank.

Any camper that will need regular medical treatment (i.e., taping) should bring her own supplies. The Bonnie Henrickson Basketball Camp will not provide such items unless in an emergency.

It is strongly recommended that all cell phones be left in the residence hall each day while camp is in session. This helps to ensure full attention of camp participants. Cell phone use is encouraged in the residence hall during breaks only. Cell phone use will not be permitted by campers while in the gym or during other camp sessions.

Water and Gatorade is provided for all sessions of camp so bottles and drink containers are not needed.

MEDICAL NEEDS

Our medical staff will be on-call 24 hours a day during each camp session. Furthermore, an athletic trainer will be available in each gym when campers are in the gym to evaluate and treat injuries or illnesses. An athletic trainer will also stay overnight in the dorm each night. This room location will be communicated with campers the first session of camp.

In the event of a medical situation, the athletic trainer will evaluate the camper for injury and/or illness and provide proper care. Should the medical staff deem it necessary to refer on for additional care, the emergency contact for the camper will be notified. If the contact cannot be reached within a reasonable amount of time, a decision will be made as to the best interest of the camper. Insurance information will be required of all participants. Camp insurance is secondary to any personal insurance. The Bonnie Henrickson Basketball Camp does not assume any responsibility for insurance claims that arise as a result of participation in camp.

Medications will not be provided to the campers without the parent or guardian's permission. It is advised that if your child will need any medications while participating in camp, they bring it with them. Campers bringing medication to camp will be required to fill out a Medical Administration Form and bring it with them to camp. Please plan to meet with a member of the training staff to go over these medications at check-in on the first day. Also, if your child has a pre-existing injury they should have the proper medical documentation releasing them to participate. Taping, bracing, medications, etc associated with this injury should also be brought to camp for the child's use.

CAMP STORE

The Bonnie Henrickson Camp Store will be available in the Horejsi Family Athletic Center (HFAC). KU Women's basketball clothing, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Pizza will be available through the camp store each night. The Camp Store will accept cash and checks. Checks should be made out to the Bonnie Henrickson Basketball Camp. THERE IS NO CAMP BANK.

LATE ARRIVALS/EARLY DEPARTURES or MISSED SESSIONS

Any camper arriving late (after registration has ended) or departing before the final session of camp has ended must contact the camp office two weeks prior to the start of camp. Late arrivals must have all paperwork turned in prior to check-in. Arrangements will be made with the camp staff to meet a late arrival and get them started as quickly as possible with camp activities.

Any camper that will miss a camp session must also contact the camp office two weeks prior to the start of camp with the dates and times of planned absence. All campers missing a session will need to be signed out by a parent or guardian.
