How do I register my child for the Bonnie Henrickson Summer Camp?

To register your child, you have two choices. The easiest way is to log on to www.bonnieball.com and to register your child on-line. Please have your credit card information handy when registering as you will be required to provide that information. Upon registering, you will automatically be entered into our database and a confirmation letter will be sent to your designated email address within minutes of completing the registration process. You will also receive important information regarding camp within 7-10 days after registering on-line.

The other way to register is by completing the registration form available on the paper camp brochure and returning it to the Kansas Women's Basketball office. A confirmation letter and other important information will be mailed to you upon receipt of your registration. You may request a camp brochure by calling (785) 864-4938.

When is payment due?

No payments will be accepted at check-in on the first day of camp!! If you register on-line at www.bonnieball.com, you may log-on at your convenience to your camp account and pay the remaining balance on your account. No automatic payments will be generated this summer so please make sure that you keep track of your account and complete the final payment as described in the timetable below. Please keep your log-in information from when you registered for camp to access your account at a later date - our office does not have this information available.

If you register via the camp brochure, you should mail or bring your account balance to the Kansas Women's Basketball Office (see address above). Checks should be made payable to the Bonnie Henrickson Basketball Camp. We are not able to accept credit card payments unless your register online at www.bonnieball.com. All payments must be RECEIVED in full by the following dates to ensure your reservation for camp:

Elite Camp - Final payment due by Thursday, May 15, 2014
Individual Camp - Final payment due by Friday, May 30, 2014

Are discounts or scholarships available?

Unfortunately, we do not offer discounts or scholarships for our summer camp sessions.

Does my child have to have a physical for camp?

Yes, all campers must have a current physical to be cleared for participation in the Bonnie Henrickson Summer Basketball Camps. No camper will be allowed to participate if they do not have a physical on file prior to the start of camp. Physicals can be brought to registration, but we encourage you to complete your file beforehand by mailing it or faxing it to the Kansas Women's Basketball office. All physicals must be dated within one year of the start of the respective camp session. A school or sports physical is sufficient or a form is available through our office. Where will campers reside if they are an overnight camper?

All Elite and Individual Overnight campers will reside in Naismith Hall this summer. Naismith Hall is conveniently located 1 block from the KU athletic facilities, on the corner of Naismith Drive and 19th Street. Each room can hold a maximum of two campers - no exceptions. Rooms are arranged in suite-style (two rooms connected by bathroom). Any roommate/suitemate request will need to be submitted by each participant at least two weeks prior to the start of camp. We cannot guarantee roommates, but will do our best to accommodate all requests submitted on time.

Do camp staff members stay overnight in the dorms?

Yes, members of the KU coaching staff and camp staff will reside in the dorm for the duration of camp. In addition, current KU players will also reside in the residence hall each night. On average, there are 4-6 staff members per floor of the residence hall. Room check will be conducted by staff members to ensure all campers are accounted for nightly. A camp trainer will also reside in the residence hall overnight should there be a medical emergency. Locations of these rooms will be communicated with campers on the first day of camp. There is also a member of the Naismith Hall staff that monitors all entrances 24-hours a day and is available for camper questions/problems.

How do the meals work for camp?

For Elite Camp, the first meal will be dinner on dinner on Thursday, June 5th. Overnight campers will then receive 3 meals on Friday, June 6th and breakfast on Saturday, June 7th. Meals are served buffet-style with an assortment of choices. Although the meals are buffet-style, campers will not be allowed to re-enter the cafeteria once they have exited following their respective meal. Day Campers will be provided lunch and dinner while at camp. Breakfast should be eaten prior to arriving each day for camp. For Individual Camp, the first meal will be dinner on Sunday, June 22nd. Overnight campers will be served 3 meals per day on Monday and Tuesday with breakfast on Wednesday, June 25th being the last meal provided. Although the meals are buffet-style, campers will not be allowed to re-enter the cafeteria once they have exited following their respective meal. Day Campers will be provided lunch and dinner while at camp. Breakfast should be eaten prior to arriving each day for camp.

Where should I park if I want to watch my child participate throughout camp?

Parents are invited to attend any and all sessions of camp. The schedule of activities will be posted the first day of camp and available at registration.

The KU parking department will ticket any car that is parked on campus without a proper parking permit during the week (7 am-5:30 pm). All parents/visitors are able to park for FREE at Naismith Hall or in Lot 112 (see campus map). You can park in the Allen Fieldhouse parking garage, located on the north side of Allen Fieldhouse for $1.75 for the first hour (or any portion of an hour), and all subsequent hours are $1.50 (cash or credit card). You may also purchase a temporary parking permit that will allow you to park closer to the gym while at camp. Please call the KU Parking Department during normal business hours for more information on how to obtain these passes.

The Bonnie Henrickson Basketball Camp cannot be responsible for any tickets incurred at registration or during the camp week. If you do receive a ticket, the Parking Department is located just north of Allen Fieldhouse in the parking garage on the 2nd floor. If you have any questions, call the Parking Department, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 5:00 pm at (785) 864-7275.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but cannot control any of the policies and procedures made by the KU Parking Department. Please make sure that you communicate this information with anyone that may be visiting your child(ren) while at camp.

What do I do if my child will be late to camp or miss a session?

Any camper arriving late (after registration has ended) or departing before the final session of camp has ended must contact the camp office two weeks prior to the start of camp. Late arrivals must have all paperwork turned in prior to check-in. Arrangements will be made with the camp staff to meet a late arrival and get them started as quickly as possible with camp activities.

Any camper that will miss a camp session must also contact the camp office two weeks prior to the start of camp with the dates and times of planned absence. All campers missing a session will need to be signed out by a parent or guardian.

Are parents or other visitors allowed to watch camp?

Absolutely! All of the camp sessions are open to parents and other visitors. We ask that you remain on the sidelines so that no games or drills are compromised during the camp sessions. Camp schedules will be available upon check-in. Parents are also allowed to visit their child(ren) in the residence hall during breaks; however they are not able to enter the cafeteria area. With the exception of check-in/check-out, male visitors are restricted to the main level of the residence hall and should not be present on camper floors. Please make sure that you pay attention to parking policies and inform any guests of the policies as well as the Bonnie Henrickson Basketball Camp is not responsible for any tickets issued while at camp.

Is there a camp store?

Yes, the camp store will be open during check-in and will remain open throughout the various sessions of camp. It will be located in the south lobby of the Horejsi Family Athletic Center (HFAC). Kansas t-shirts, adidas shorts, headbands, bags, basketballs and much more will be available. Drinks and snacks will also be available for purchase. The Bonnie Henrickson Camp Store accepts cash and check only. Checks should be made payable to the Bonnie Henrickson Basketball Camp. Campers are responsible for keeping up with their own money - there is no camp bank. Pizza will also be available for purchase through the camp store following the evening sessions. Orders for pizza will be taken at lunch time each day of camp.

What is the refund policy for camp?

No refunds will be issued for the Jayhawk Jamboree or Junior Jayhawk Camp. Refunds for Elite Camp or Individual Camp will only be processed in the event of illness or injury PRIOR to the start of the camp session. All requests for a refund must be received in writing PRIOR to the start of the respective camp session. Requests must include medical documentation outlining the limits to participation as well as the signature of a licensed physician (unrelated to the camper). The $100 deposit and any on-line registration fees will be deducted from the refund amount. Registrations are non-transferable from year to year. No partial refunds will be given to any request made after camp begins or for any camper sent home for disciplinary reasons or due to homesickness. All returned checks are subject to $50 charge.
